A few things:
- Submissions are not guaranteed to be reviewed. That said, I do look at submissions and give consideration to each one. If I don’t review yours, don’t take it personally. Sometimes an album is interesting, but almost impossible to describe using the method of reviewing I use, so that situation can result in my not reviewing something I’m otherwise interested in.
- Instrumental releases or releases where the vocals are not the focal point of the music are preferred, although this is not a rule or anything.
- Just because I don’t like a release or it’s almost unlistenable or lacking any redeeming artistic value according to 99.9% of the population doesn’t mean I won’t review it. In fact, these releases can be some of the most interesting things to review, provided there’s enough content to it to be able to muster a description. Even if I do not like the music, writing about it can be nice. Remember, I really don’t “review” things; I simply try to describe them using hopefully interesting language.
- No fascism, racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, or right wing politics, please. I’m pretty far to the left of center.
- Any type of link for download or streaming of the album is OK, provided it’s at a decent bitrate, but I prefer Bandcamp and dislike Soundcloud. I have a Spotify Premium account. Also, if your album costs like $10 or something, I’m much more likely to review it if you provide me with a download code, simply because I do not have a lot of money.
