Transmit – Temporal Season

Transmit’s Temporal Season begins with the track “Slow Poke”, where a pulsing, bass-y semi-wall of noise starts, and soon is accompanied by very high pitched, but quieter sounds. Then, the pulsing is altered and made more intense briefly, then returned to its previous state. A sound like belching with people talking briefly appears, and what sounds like a wall of noise being modified with an equalizer in various ways, mostly playing with the low end, occurs. Then the sound of belching plays for several seconds. A distant rumble happens, being modified in various ways. Mid-frequencied noise with some highs come in and play. All sound cuts out briefly, and then it resumes. The mid-frequencied noise cuts out, and a wall of noise continues to be modulated in various ways, probably with an equalizer. Some highs come in briefly, and then some softly resonant filters which move across the spectrum quickly plays, and in the background the pulsing, bassy semi-wall of noise returns. Then all cuts out except for the filtered noise, a hum plays, and the track ends.

In “Sludge”, some clicky noise plays in a loop and what sounds like a lumbering gargantua with a delay effect on its movement noises plays. Various physical objects are moved around with the delay on them, and distortion is caused by the peaks of the sound being cut off. This goes on for a bit, until the end of the track.

“Hard Rain” begins with what sounds like the sound of rain put on a loop and through some distortion with a slightly bassy noise wall in the background. Then, the sound of rain becomes more intense, and then is returned to normalcy. This goes on mostly unaltered until the noise wall cuts out briefly, then comes back. Eventually the noise wall cuts out again, and then again comes back. Eventually, indiscernible, almost musical sound occurs in the background briefly and then stops. The noise wall keeps going and then cuts out again. Then the noise wall cuts out on each speaker a few times, then becomes more intense, and plays in a semi-rhythm. Then, the track is over.

The track “Spock’s Left Brain” begins with a bassy semi-wall of noise, and then some resonant sounds play with a bit of a delay effect on them. There is some thunking about. Then, some highly distorted percussion plays out of any time signature or rhythm in a loop a couple times, and a wall of noise overcomes all sound.

“Headbanger” starts out with a staccato rhythm with a delay effect on it that plays for about a minute and twenty seconds until a thunking bass drum plays briefly and then an incredibly distorted synth plays and the rhythm drops out briefly, only to return. Then some loud but non-descript noises play, the percussion changes a bit and is very glitched, until it drops out again briefly, comes back, and the track quickly fades out.
